The wedding was a success. A night of dancing, socializing, making up more stories concerning Bryant and my relationship and how our courtship started. By the end of the night, everyone was so loose, there wasn't a sober guest in attendance, not even Bryant's grandmother, Mrs. Bryant.

They had no idea who I was, but they all treated me like a princess, something totally new to me. Being here and with him was like living a dream, a fantasy. People treated me differently, in a good way, while I was on Bryant’s arm while dressed like I was headed to the Oscars. A part of me didn't want for the night to end.

That champagne might as well had been bottles of vodka, the way my body soaked it up and made my head even lighter. I promise I was floating, with no clue how I could still remain on my feet. I'd never thought myself to be such a lush. Then again, I'd never drank the way I drank that night. It was more me being nervous than being interested in the champagne, although it really tasted better than the cheap stuff I got from the liquor store around my way on every other New Year's Eve. Tonight, I had way above my limit and obviously, Bryant had too.

After the wedding ended, Bryant and I rode the elevator to our room in the castle. He leaned one shoulder against the elevator's wall to face me. That man inspected me silently from my head to my six-inch heels, heating me up the longer he stared.

"You really are beautiful tonight," he told me. "You're beautiful every time I see you, but tonight your beauty is distracting me in a good way. A great way."

"You're drunk," I whispered, my head turning away. "Very drunk."

"I'm tipsy," he corrected.

"No, we were tipsy at the mansion. This right now? Is drunk."

He licked his lips. "And why is that worth mentioning?"

"We're not thinking straight."

"I apologize if I haven't made this clear to you from my kiss." He closed the space between us. "Being forward is something I tend to be more of in business, so I may have been a little lax with you. Please let me fix that. Zoe…" He stepped in front of me, pressed his hands to the elevator’s wall on either sides of me, caging me in. "I don't want to think with you, and certainly not right now. I think for a living, far too much I might add, and right now I'm off the clock and wish to remain there for once."

I stared up at him for a moment then asked, "So if… umm." I cleared my throat. "If you don’t want to think, what do you want to do?"

He left my question unanswered and leaned in, pressing his lips to mine again before I stepped back and out of the kiss. My shoulders were flush against the elevator’s wall when I laid my hand against his chest meeting my eyes with his once more.
